About the Junior Class
This is an aikido class for elementary school students. We focus on developing martial arts etiquette, concentration, and physical fitness in a fun and engaging way. This is not an advanced class for experienced practitioners – it is an environment where children new to martial arts can start with confidence. We also offer plenty of experiences outside the dojo, including training camps and overseas trips.
Training Content
With 1-2 sessions per week, children learn basic aikido techniques, ukemi (breakfalls), and etiquette. Physical ability and mental strength develop naturally through enjoyable practice.
- Basic movements and ukemi (techniques for protecting the body through rolling)
- Partner practice (practicing techniques in pairs)
- Etiquette (greetings, how to wear the gi, dojo manners)
- Physical training (fun game-based exercises)
- Grading and rank promotion system (goals to work toward)

We hold multiple training camps per year (in Hakone, Izu, etc.) and joint practice sessions with dojos from other countries. Our juniors have a track record of overseas trips.
