About the Gentle Class
This is an aikido class for those with physical concerns and seniors. Rather than intense training for advanced practitioners, this class focuses on learning body mechanics slowly and carefully. Many members in their 60s and 70s attend regularly. About half of the members are women, and we prioritize “continuing safely for the long term.”







Why Seniors Can Train Safely
Aikido is a martial art that works through body mechanics and the flow of “ki” (energy), not brute strength. Because techniques can be performed regardless of age or physical fitness, members in their 60s and 70s continue to train actively.

- Emphasis on teaching soft ukemi (breakfalls)
